Ed Mattingly is president of Mattingly Custom Finishes and creator of "No Limits Paint." His firm is one of North America's most respected and sought after designers of specialty wall finishes. Their award winning, leading edge designs have been featured in many shelter publications, books and on television. He is involved as a consultant for many manufacturers and is active on various paint councils. Ed has been Industry Partner Representative to the board of directors for ASID, Illinois chapter and serves on the board of Supporting the Spirit Foundation. He is a contributing member of The Color Marketing Group. Ed is active in legislative efforts, students, showhouses, etc. for Illinois chapter of ASID.
He has lectured at design seminars, paint seminars, design schools, Student Career Day and hosts the Annual Interior Designer Luncheon which 350 designers, students and faculty attend each Fall. He and his team have presented paint and faux finish seminars at the Merchandise Mart Chicago, design centers in Dallas, Indiana and Charleston and Highpoint NC, and for the mayor's office of Chicago. He has presented with Mary Hoffman & Ken Charbonneau of Benjamin Moore, James Martin of The Color People, Lisa White of the View publications, Peggy Van Allen of Pratt & Lambert, Donna Vining, Barbara Pearlman, Gary Wheeler, and Alan Mack, ASID and countless other designers.
The grandson of a paint contractor, Ed has been involved in the paint industry for three decades. In charge of over 30 artists and craftsmen he is a "hands on" CEO. Mattingly Custom Finishes recently created quite a buzz in the wallpaper industry with European Impressions, their line of hand-painted wallcovering. The product is the first to be removable and completely reusable. The green design aspect of this product, as well as truly sustainable wall finish designs have turned many heads in the design industry. Mattingly Custom Finishes creativity has given birth to "No Limits Paint" and the paint industry will never be the same.
Ed resides in LaGrange, Illinois with his wife and three daughters.
